Peter Zelle’s newest series, “Celestial Bodies,” is the culmination of 40 years of working with glass, wood, metal, and light. These strikingly original, large-scale cast-glass sculptures are illuminated from within and transform with the touch of a button. Unlit, they resemble carved-stone reliefs. Illuminated, they glow with a vibrant intensity. The dynamic interplay of geometric shapes, colors, and light within each piece is mesmerizing, evocative, jazzy, even playful.
