“Compositions” are my most monumental pieces. The cast-glass slabs are six to seven feet tall and two inches thick, smooth on one side with a carved relief on the other. Light streams through each piece and activates the vibrant colors. Inspired by abstract painters such as Kandinsky and Gorky, I bring together shapes, patterns, textures, and colors in order to orchestrate a dynamic and expressive whole. My aim with such large pieces is to fill the viewers’ vision and encompass them in a field of motion—as if they are hearing a symphony and following the sound with their eyes.
