Awakening is part of the Carin Series.

I began this series after the passing of my parents. They are markers along the pathways of our lives. Each one embodies an associative narrative that speaks to of each us. They are objects that present a portal and can provide for us what we need to see, feel and hear in the moment.

Awakening is about a new day. The sculpture supplies the form and space where disparate shapes, textures and colors begin to fuse into something not yet there. It embodies the potential of each new day.

The Carin Series are made of 2 separate cast glass pieces. The top piece simply sets into the bottom piece is able to rotate to create dynamic angles and reflections. There are countless ways to display these works. The top piece is secured with a set screw.
