The Horizon Series is inspired by my time spent on the North Shore of Lake Superior and the artwork of George Morrison (1919-2000), the Native American Abstract Expressionist painter/sculptor whom I had the privilege to meet. The horizon is the organizing structure for our visual space: it is our most basic way of orienting ourselves to our surroundings. These tabletop pieces evoke the motion of water, wind, and mountains, as well as the relationship between urban and natural spaces.
