Cast Glass, Copper leaf and patina
Size: 14 W x 10 H x 3 D in
“Arial Drift” is an abstract sculpture, a part of the Horizon Series inspired by Lake Superior’s North Shore by the work of George Morrison (1919–2000), the Native American Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor whom I had the privilege to meet.
The horizon serves as an organizing structure for visual space—our most fundamental means of orientation.
This contemporary fine craft art work captures the essence of nature’s elements, translating land, water, and wind into a elegant form. Rolling hills transition into rippling waves as two form drift across the layered sky. The edge is covered in patina copper leaf giving the piece an ancient feel. Carving and casting techniques are used to create this one of a kind piece of glass art.
The two separate glass pieces stack comfortably and museum gel is included to ensure secure installation.
Certificate of Authenticity is provided as well.
