Cast Glass and Metal Leaf
Size: 14.5 W x 9 H x 2.5 D in
“Comfort Zone” is a cast glass sculpture, part of the Horizon Series, drawing inspiration from Lake Superior’s north shore and by the artistic vision of George Morrison (1919–2000), the Native American Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor whom I had the privilege to meet.
The horizon serves as an organizing structure for visual space—our most fundamental means of orientation.
Comprised of layered bands that evoke the balance of land, water, wind, and air, this simple contoured sculpture contains two nestled forms in the base, gazing upward toward the glowing blue moon. Variegated gold metal leaf wraps the edge sealing the quiet space.
This contemporary hand made piece of fine craft is more than just decor; it’s an invitation to pause, reflect and find your own comfort zone.
The two separate pieces stack comfortably and museum gel is included to ensure secure installation.
Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the piece as well.
