Experience the serene beauty of “Harmonic Horizon – Yellow,” a unique cast glass sculpture.
It is inspired by the serene beauty of Lake Superior’s north shore, and by the work of George Morrison (1919–2000), the Native American Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor whom I had the privilege to meet.
The horizon serves as an organizing structure for visual space—our most fundamental means of orientation.
The radiant yellow form is interspersed with bands of orange, violet and blues, creating pulsating layers of horizontal lines and arcs. A green sun or moon rises in the base signaling a new day and the wonder it may bring.
This contemporary sculpture is made using a casting technique. The edges are finished with metal leaf, adding a warm touch that wraps the piece. Perfect for a shelf, table top or widow sill, Harmonic Horizon -Yellow brings a warm glow and excitement to its surroundings.
The two pieces stack comfortably and museum gel is included for stable display.
