Cast Glass and White Gold Leaf
Size: 19 W x 11 H x 2.5 D in
“Horizons’ Edge,” belongs to the Horizon Series, drawing inspiration from Lake Superior’s north shore and by the artistic vision of George Morrison (1919–2000), the Native American Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor whom I had the privilege to meet.
The horizon serves as an organizing structure for visual space—our most fundamental means of orientation.
This hand made fine craft sculpture embodies nature’s elements, translating the movement of water and wind into a beautiful and graceful form. Using a blend of textures and colors, achieved through carving and casting techniques, “Horizons’ Edge” allows one to explore a place unknown. An internal landscape with quiet hues of green, violet and amber, wrapped in white gold leaf, freezing motion in a still calm space.
The two separate castings stack comfortably and museum gel is included to ensure secure installation.
Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the piece as well.
