Cast Glass, Metal leaf
Size: 14 W x 8.5 H x 2.5 D in
“Intervals,” is part of the New Horizon series inspired by Lake Superiors’ beautiful north shore and the art works of George Morrison (1919–2000), the Native American Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor whom I had the privilege to meet.
The horizon serves as an organizing structure for visual space—our most fundamental means of orientation.
Rich greens and deep blues and purples blend to create a rich, earthy terrain. The procession of forms moving towards an unknown destination highlight this piece. The edges of this hand made glass casting is wrapped with metal leaf creating a contrast with the reflective and luminous glass. The segmented layers invite contemplation of travel and transformation. Imagine this beautiful one of a kind artwork gracing a shelf or a console table, adding a touch of contemporary fine craft to your home or office.
“Intervals” are two separate castings that fit together, museum gel is included to ensure they remain secure.
Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the piece as well.
