Cast Glass, Metal leaf
Size: 12 W x 7 H x 2.5 D in
Inspired by the sublime landscape of Lake Superior’s north shore and by the work of George Morrison (1919–2000), the Native American Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor whom I had the privilege to meet.
The horizon serves as an organizing structure for visual space—our most fundamental means of orientation.
“Listening Dove” is a timeless and tranquil piece. The landscape takes the abstract form of a dove, a symbol of peace and hope. The textures play on the interwoven nature of land and sky. Warm and shimmering varigated golden metal leaf wraps the edges bringing unity to this beautiful piece of fine craft.
“Listening Dove,” is a captivating addition to any art collection. It’s a small and wonderful piece. Warm orange and olive green balance with the midnight blue, purple and violet sections creating a colorful and quiet horizon to gaze at.
The two separate pieces stack comfortable and museum gel is included to ensuring the pieces remain secure.
Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the piece as well.
