“Night Scape”, part of the Horizon series, captures the serene beauty of Lake Superior’s north shore under a full moon and is inspired by the work of George Morrison (1919–2000), the Native American Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor whom I had the privilege to meet.
The horizon serves as an organizing structure for visual space—our most fundamental means of orientation.
This graceful sculpture emanates a quiet, calm energy. Its simple, contemporary design invites the contemplation of waves and the steady passage of time. Bubbles floating in the center hint at the surface of the moon, and bring motion to an otherwise still composition. The deep midnight blue evokes night time above the great lake. Wrapped with variegated metal foil there’s a shimmer of gold surrounding the piece.
This small, one-of-a-kind tabletop sculpture brings a touch of sophisticated calm to any space. Imagine it gracing a bookshelf, a desk, or window ledge, adding abstract artistry and a sense of tranquil reflection to your home.
The two pieces fit comfortably together and museum gel included for a secure display.
Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the piece as well.
