Cast Glass

“Quiet Journey” is from an early stage of the Horizon series. Inspired by Lake Superior’s north shore and by the artistic vision of George Morrison (1919–2000), the Native American Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor whom I had the privilege to meet.
The horizon serves as an organizing structure for visual space—our most fundamental means of orientation.
Shaped like a bird spreading its wings, this form contains an inner landscape comprised of earth tone colors and directional textures. As forms drift across the sky one gets to imagine their journey and destination.
Made from carving and casting techniques this one of a kind sculpture has a contemporary and modern feel. With polished edges light streams throughout the piece emanating with a warm and quiet glow.
The two cast glass pieces stack comfortably and museum gel is include to ensure secure installation.
A Certificate of Authenticity is provided as well.
