Cast Glass and Metal Leaf
Size: 17 W x 10 H x 4 D in
“Soft Interval” is an elegant cast glass sculpture and part of the Horizon series. Inspired by Lake Superior’s north shore and by the work of George Morrison (1919–2000), the Native American Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor whom I had the privilege to meet.
The horizon serves as an organizing structure for visual space—our most fundamental means of orientation.
The quiet gold, sea green, gray, blue, violet and olive hues blend peacefully together in this hand made fine craft sculpture.
The edges are wrapped with variegated gold leaf bringing an added elegance. Layers stack in smooth transitions from bottom to top with a gentle pace allowing the eye to meander slowly across the piece. Soft clouds drift in the light amber sky above the gray urban skyline, taking one away from daily distractions and guides the mind into a calm space.
The two separate pieces stack comfortably and museum gel is included to ensure secure installation.
Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the piece as well.
