Viridian Waves is part of the Horizon series. Inspired by Lake Superior’s north shore and the art work of George Morrison, the abstract expressionist painter I had the privilege to meet.
The horizon serves as an organizing structure for visual space—our most fundamental means of orientation.The vibrant green glowing waves flow above a blue moon forming a balance in this exciting piece. Quiet yet commanding, this table top sculpture brings energy and movement to its surroundings.
Clear glass is placed into a plaster mold on top of colored glass powders and fired in a kiln. After the firing process the piece is removed from the mold, polished, and the edges are wrapped is variegated copper leaf.
The two glass pieces stack comfortably and museum gel is included to ensure secure placement.
